Presenting the Exoto diecast replica of the 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Roadster #12 as raced by George Wintersteen at Watkins Glen.

YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE:
Exoto has recently retired this model and no more will ever be built!  Since retirement, this model has already appreciated in value over 300% and will undoubtedly continue to climb.  If you like the Corvette Grand Sport, don't miss this great investment opportunity.....

Exoto has created an award winning miniature replica in 1:18 scale ... No less than 250 precision parts are required to hand assemble this gem. Superb features include a highly detailed V8 small block that is fully wired and plumbed.  Authentic design suspensions on an independent diecast tubular chassis.  Beautifully detailed interior with real carpeting, highly detailed instrument cluster and genuine fabric seat-belts. Meticulously designed in every way!
This is master diecast modeling at its best...

The original Corvette Grand Sport was the secret weapon of Corvette godfather Zora Arkus-Duntov: this was a car with brute horsepower. The Corvette Grand Sport could lift its front wheels off the ground in all 4 gears! Unfortunately, the GM boardroom put a stop to this project; but they could not stop the 5 Grand Sports already built... And neither could the competition!

George Wintersteen bought Corvette Grand Sport chassis 002 from Roger Penske and picked up his Roadster after the 1966 Sebring race. The Wintersteen Roadster was immediately updated by Traco with a 427 ci engine equipped with a single Holley carburetor. Competing in the 1966 US Road Racing Championship, Wintersteen and chassis 002 delivered impressive results at Bridgehampton, Watkins Glen and Mosport, given that the competition was now two years ahead and far more sophisticated.

The 1966 USRRC event at Watkins Glen, in particular, stands out from the other races. George remembers being bumped by Charlie Parsons' McLaren before moving over to give Parsons the racing line. "The next thing I knew, Parsons was off in the weeds amid great clouds of dust," Wintersteen recalls. He does not, however, recall stopping his Corvette to pull Mark Donohue from his crashed and burning Lola T70!

Donít miss this opportunity to own a piece of history!
